I've been an entrepreneur for over 40 years. My husband and I grew a tiny condo-rental agency into a scheduled charter airline flying 30,000+ passengers a year between Alaska and Hawaii, and after 25 years we sold it to Alaska Airlines. I've built and exited multiple businesses since. But here's the truth: for years, I was still the operator in my own company, not the owner. I hadn't duplicated myself, and it nearly cost me the life I started the business for in the first place.
